[ Action, Voice ] "You! What planet is this?"
[Filtered 6%]
[So, after a month or so of study in shifts and things that mess with brains, Molly's ready to try an experiment. She attempts to say each of these in their regular languages: Spanish, Latin, French, and Chinese. All she gets for her efforts are a few words squeaking through Luceti's translation and a headache.]
I'm going to habla en Spanish.
Next to try nonnullus Latin.
I don't know many words in French but here it goes: belle, thanks, Camembert.
...Kung Pao Chicken.
[/Filter]
[She waits a bit for the headache to fade and then makes a general post.]
Two months in this place, and I feel like I'm still just getting my feet wet. I know everyone's getting adjusted with this whole new 'cycle,' but I wonder if a few people wouldn't mind answering a question: What language am I speaking right now?
[And in a bit, Molly will blow off her normal time at the library to enjoy the warm day and glorious weather in a pair of stonewashed cut-off shorts that are just a bit too short and a plain white men's T-shirt. She's roaming in and out of town, until eventually she finds a good hill to meditate on. Two months? Caution's getting thin. It's time to try and contact one of these filial spirits and just... start talking.]

Practicing breaking filters? Not that it was much of a filter...
[voice]
S-sorry, sorry! Geez, I barely even noticed... I was just curious, honest.
[voice]
Hey, that's okay. I only filtered them so I wouldn't take up too much space. So you were able to see the French bits as French?
[voice]
Two out of three words, and I only knew one of 'em. The translator's kind of broken sometimes, isn't it?

And we're a long way from take-out.

[Says a notoriously poor chef.]
[voice]
[The downside of having two very successful doctors in the family, apparently.]
So do you speak all those languages, or is that just what you know?
[voice]
Yeah, that's about it - I'm not very good at any of them.
[Though she's getting better in Latin all the time? One must be able to at least explain one's case in case a bunch of wizards get together and want to chop off one's head.]

[OH THE STORIES HE COULD TELL. But. Won't.]
[voice]
[She knows something about not telling stories.
But. She's just talking like she'd talk to any teenage kid.]
[voice]
[If we're gonna be poking at the concept.]
