[Action]

[Molly didn't like to deal in debt and favors. Harry had instilled in her a healthy respect for the sort of thing, and what nearly inevitably happened with the Fae. But these were different rules, and she didn't want to cause offense. This was starting to feel too complicated when it should be simple. She decided that a measure of honest vulnerability may be her best course of action.]

How fast you were wasn't a factor. [Molly paused, then nodded to herself.] I'm only telling you this in case you have to work with me or Harry again. I don't all the ways magic works within other people's worlds, but for us, if magical energy is dispelled improperly while we're holding a spell, it leads to a backlash.

[A painful, nasty backlash.]

If I'd known that's what you were going to do, I could have designed a word of release. The veil wouldn't have shattered, it would have just dissipated. I realize that you didn't know and I don't hold it against you, and as far as I'm concerned that's where any responsibility you hold in this whole thing towards me ends.
