[So, after a month or so of study in shifts and things that mess with brains, Molly's ready to try an experiment. She attempts to say each of these in their regular languages: Spanish, Latin, French, and Chinese. All she gets for her efforts are a few words squeaking through Luceti's translation and a headache.]

I'm going to habla en Spanish.

Next to try nonnullus Latin.

I don't know many words in French but here it goes: belle, thanks, Camembert.

[She waits a bit for the headache to fade and then makes a general post.]

Two months in this place, and I feel like I'm still just getting my feet wet. I know everyone's getting adjusted with this whole new 'cycle,' but I wonder if a few people wouldn't mind answering a question: What language am I speaking right now?

[And in a bit, Molly will blow off her normal time at the library to enjoy the warm day and glorious weather in a pair of stonewashed cut-off shorts that are just a bit too short and a plain white men's T-shirt. She's roaming in and out of town, until eventually she finds a good hill to meditate on. Two months? Caution's getting thin. It's time to try and contact one of these filial spirits and just... start talking.]

"That's rhetorical, right?" Molly stood about a bit awkwardly, waiting for the near-stranger to finish getting things together. "Is there anything I can grab?"

[herotypical]

"Bowls? Cupboard above the stove. Unless you prefer your ice cream in a mug..."

[talentsgirl]

"Only if it's cooling off hot chocolate."

She moved to get the bowls.

[herotypical]

"See? I'm a fan of the handle. It allows for a unique ice-cream eating experience. But I promise not to force my barbaric ways upon you."

"To each their own, I guess," at which point Molly begins opening up cupboard doors in search of a mug for her host.

[herotypical]

Buffy popped the top of the pint and began digging at it with a wide spoon. The first few spoonfuls were always the most difficult to free up.

"So. I've seen you around the bar, Molly. But you're somewhere in the vicinity of new, right?"

[talentsgirl]

"About two months," she set bowl and mug down next to her. "Come to think of it, your name is kind of familiar - unless there's another Buffy in town?"

[herotypical]

"Nope. There's just me -- I'm pretty sure there's just me, at least. And for that? I remain grateful. I don't need identity confusion on top of everything else this place throws at us."

[talentsgirl]

"So then I read about you," and may have watched you on TV a few times. "In the Guide."

[herotypical]

She glanced over her shoulder.

"Hmm. I really need to talk to Raine about whether it's strictly necessary to mention me at all, in that thing."

[talentsgirl]

"Not that into the press?"

[herotypical]

"More like...I'm not exactly used to it. Not yet."

[talentsgirl]

"Finding the fangirling awkward?"

[herotypical]

The word-choice drew her more direct attention.

"Hmm? No. God, I hope not. I'm just sick of people looking at me with that no way did a shrimp like you take down the general face."

[talentsgirl]

"They've clearly missed out on their essential Star Wars training," Molly said, smiling. "'Size matters not--'" with a finger wave, even. "It's not exactly ice cream talk, but sometime I'd like to hear about it."

[herotypical]

"There isn't much to hear, to be honest."

Buffy smiled dryly. "I hacked off his wings."
